HITMAPS™ October 13, 2022 Roulette/Tournaments Release

An update to HITMAPS Roulette and HITMAPS Tournaments has been released. See below for the notable changes.

HITMAPS™️ Roulette

Can You Hear Me Now?

A basic “click here” box has been added when first viewing the participant screen for a HITMAPS Tournaments-officiated match. This box actually doesn’t do anything special; however the user clicking the box will tell the web browser to play audio from that point forward. No more pesky, “Eliminate the Target” audio prompt after completing the spin.

WebSockets Auto-Reconnect

The Roulette has been updated to use v3 of Microsoft’s SignalR TypeScript library, which allows for built-in auto-reconnect. Should a player temporarily disconnect for a short period of time, the site will attempt to reconnect automatically.

To compliment this change, the current connection status is now displayed (you may have noticed this in the earlier screenshot). Depending on connection state, this will be either “Connected”, “Connecting”, “Reconnecting”, or “Disconnected”.

Should a user completely disconnect, a message will appear recommending the user refresh the page. While most actions should automatically reconnect at this point, it is still possible for certain features to not work 100%, and refreshing is recommended at that point, even if the status switches back to “Connected”.

Does Anyone Know What Time Is Left?

The timer that shows for Roulette Admins has been updated fixed after it was semi-intentionally broken after the last site update. Now it’ll actually update every second and properly show the “pretime” countdown.

HITMAPS™️ Tournaments

Not too much to report here, minus the addition of a “Match Admin” field for matches. This was a long overdue feature.

Additionally, shoutcasters can now be removed from matches, which was a regression fault introduced in the last site update.
